Eligibility
- BioHacks is open to all enrolled high school and university students. You can compete solo or in a team of up to 4 members. All attendees, sponsors, and volunteers must strictly adhere to the MLH Code of Conduct.
Project and Submission Requirements
- Fresh Code: All projects must be built entirely during the hackathon. You cannot submit work done prior to the event, though you may use open-source libraries, frameworks, and publicly available APIs.
- Open Source: If you use third-party tools, ensure you have the right to use them and properly credit them in your submission.
- Complete Submission: All required Devpost fields must be filled out before the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Prizes
- Prizes will be awarded to the top overall teams, as well as winners of specific track categories. Please refer to the "Prizes" tab on this Devpost page for a full breakdown of the awards, swags, and sponsor-specific bounties.
Judging Criteria and Winner Selection
- Impact & Usefulness: Does this project address a real and pressing issue in the bio-engineering or medical space?
- Technical Complexity: How challenging was the underlying technology, code, or hardware design?
- Originality & Creativity: Is the approach novel and innovative?
- Presentation & Design: Is the solution user-friendly, and was the demo video clearly and effectively communicated?
